Recently, on 30.12.2020, The Finance Minister of India has further extended the ITR filing date to 15th Jan 2021.

Recently, in May 2020, Finance Minister of India pertaining to ongoing pandemic extended the due date to file the income tax return for companies. The original due date was 31st July 2020 which is now prolonged to November 2020. This was announced via Press Conference.
What is ITR 6?
Just like individuals and partnership firm need to file for Income Tax return, the same way companies need to file the return as well. This is to be done with submitting form ITR 6. Companies that do not have any exemptions under section 11 issued by the Income Tax act must file for the return. The due date for filing Income Tax Return for all categories is 30th November 2020.
Understanding ITR 6
The extended due date of Income Tax Return for companies can let you fill the form via online medium only. The Income Tax department mandates all businesses to fill the form ITR 6 and submit till the due date given. If companies fail to file for Income Tax return till due date, then penalties are charged as per the guidelines provided.
