The Govt of India has given relief to the taxpayers to file their GSTR 3B form filling date, due to ongoing Pandemic. The relaxation date was made to be until September 2020. The original date was supposed to be 22nd June 2020.

What is GSTR 3B?

GSTR 3B is a mandatory self-declaration form filed monthly by all GST registered dealers. They must be filled along with GSTR 1 and GSTR 2. The form showcases the GST Liabilities of the dealer for the given tax duration. The due date for filing GSTR 3B for March, April and May was extended to June 2020, because of Covid 19 pandemic. Even if there have been no business dealings, GSTR 3B has to be filed.

Who should file GSTR 3B

GSTR 3B should be filled by every GST registered dealer even without having any turnover during the period. However the following registered person do not required to file this return:
1. Composition Dealer
2. Input Service Distributors
3. Non-resident taxable person

Understanding GSTR 3B

As it, a mandatory form filing, recently the Govt of India released the extended due date of GSTR 3B. If the dealer does not submit till the relaxed date given of GSTR 3B, he has to bear the interest rate charges as penalty till it is nil. There will not be any interest charged if the form is filled till the relaxed due date given.
