New Delhi: Government of India has extended the deadlines for filing the GST annual return and audit report. The government extended the due dates by a month and made it till 31st October 2020. The CBIC in a series of tweets announces that the due date for filing GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C extends till 31st October 2020.


Understanding GSTR-9


GSTR-9 is an annual statement that every taxpayer needs to file once a year. It includes every detail of the supplies made and received under several tax heads like CGST, SGST, and IGST. What is GSTR-9C?


Recently, the government has introduced a GSTR-9C audit form. It is an annual filing form for every taxpayer having more than INR 2 crore of turnovers can file.
